Relatively Good News

From Amanda via SMS:

I got the results of the scans and it’s better news than I was expecting: it just left the gates of the left breast and into the first two axillary nodes.

Of course, I don’t want it to be in the nodes but at least it appears it *just* left and it is beginning its journey out:  so I did catch this early despite the broken medical system throwing up obstacles that has made this process so damn slow.

I was thinking it spread to my brain because of headaches/dizziness but it didn’t so i felt relief when i saw the results in the patient portal last night with Ali (sister & MD).

For what it’s worth, Ali said she expected these results based on the nature of cancer and timing.

I convinced my cardiologist to do an echocardiogram and read it while I was still at UCSF so that means we've checked all the boxes for treatment!!! ✅✅✅

We will be harassing my UCSF oncologist this morning to schedule a video visit since she'll have the results to look at to make the recommendation for treatment and place the orders for it.

I feel like this is the first test result news I've received that doesn’t feel like my worst case scenario (ex-1: you have cancer, ex-2: you have a rare & aggressive cancer); as in: it did not come back as "it's spread all over" so i feel like i was cut a break on this one and feel pretty good about results.

It is also helpful to just know the truth.
